Where to stay in Page: the areas compared

Hotels in Page AZ are spread along a few corridors, and the main sights are in different directions. Horseshoe Bend lies south of town. Wahweap and the lake lie north. Antelope Point lies east. The river put-in at Lees Ferry is outside Page altogether, in Marble Canyon. Pick the area that matches your first morning, not just the room.

Most visitors do two or three things in Page: the overlook, a canyon walk and a day on the water. If you want guided canyon time, check the dates of Antelope Canyon tours first, then choose where to sleep around the check-in point.

Sunrise to sunsetHours of the Horseshoe Bend overlook, so a nearby room does not mean earlier access

Wahweap and the lakeBoat tours, paddling and lake viewsNorth of town and far from the overlook; the dam separates the lake from the river

For most first-time visitors, Page itself is the simplest base. It puts the overlook, the canyon offices and the lake within one area of driving. Choose Wahweap if the lake is the main plan, and Marble Canyon if you will start on the river at dawn.

Our pick: tour with hotel pickup

If your room is in Page, this trip collects you there and covers the canyon and the bend, so you do not have to find the check-in point on your own.

Which area for which plan

Match the room to the day you want.

Horseshoe Bend at sunrise

The overlook is open from sunrise to sunset, and you should not count on reaching the rim before sunrise. The turnoff is on US Highway 89 between mile markers 544 and 545, about 8 km (5 miles) south of the Carl Hayden Visitor Center at the dam. A room on the highway corridor or in town works. Details are on the overlook page.

Antelope Canyon

Operators ask you to check in 30 to 45 minutes early. One Upper Canyon operator runs its tour trucks from its office in Page, and one Canyon X operator meets guests at Highway 98, milepost 308. Ask your operator for the exact meeting point, and ask which time zone the booking uses. See getting there for the Arizona and Navajo Nation clock difference.

Lake Powell and Wahweap

Staying at the lake does not put you within walking distance of the Horseshoe Bend overlook. Some ramps are closed at low water, so check which launch points are open before you tow a boat. Our Lake Powell guide covers ramps, beaches and boat tours.

Kayaking from Lees Ferry

The kayak backhaul starts at Lees Ferry, in Marble Canyon, not at the overlook. Staying near the start saves a long early drive from Page. Read the kayak guide and the Lees Ferry page before you book.

Camping and beach stays

Lone Rock Beach is a primitive beach and camping zone on the lake. It has sandy access roads, and vehicles can get stuck. Entry and camping are charged separately. Do not count on drinking water or waste disposal on site, and bring your own water.

Children up to and including age 12 need a life jacket on boats, in marinas and in the water of Lake Powell. For campgrounds at Lees Ferry, check the current status of each loop before you go.

Visitor centers and planning help

Two places in Page can answer local questions.

Carl Hayden Visitor Center

The center sits at the dam on US Highway 89. It is open daily from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. from March to the end of October, and from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. from November to the end of February, Arizona time. A visit to the center is not an inside tour of the dam. See the Glen Canyon Dam page.

Glen Canyon Visitor Center

This visitor center is at 12 N Lake Powell Blvd, and is open Monday to Saturday from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. It is closed on Sundays. It does not mean that every item from the former museum is on show there.

Powell Museum

The museum building at 6 North Lake Powell Boulevard is up for sale and the museum is closed. Do not plan a visit around it.

Hotels in Page AZ: frequently asked questions

Where should I stay for Horseshoe Bend?

Page is the simplest choice. The overlook is south of town on US Highway 89, and the canyon offices and the lake are close to the same area. Choose Wahweap for the lake and Marble Canyon for early river trips.

Can I walk to Horseshoe Bend from a hotel?

Plan on driving. The overlook has its own parking lot off US Highway 89, and the trail from the lot is 1.5 miles (2.4 km) round trip. You cannot park along the highway, and drop-off or pick-up at the entrance or on the highway is not allowed.

Do I need to stay overnight in Page?

No. A two-day Las Vegas combination tour includes lodging in Page, with Antelope Canyon as an optional extra, from $285 per person for a room shared by four in 2026. Other room types cost more. Check what the package includes.

Are there hotel prices on this page?

No. Rates and availability change by date, so check current prices with the property. Rates are not listed here.

Where do I stay for kayaking from Lees Ferry?

Marble Canyon is the closest area to the river start. Staying in Page also works, but plan a longer early drive.

Is this the official site for Page hotels?

No. This is an independent travel guide. It is not the website of the National Park Service, the City of Page or the Navajo Nation, and it is not connected to any tour operator or hotel.
